WELCOME

To The Pueblo County Historical Society

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and have been in existence since 1975.
We are 100% self-funded and operated by volunteers.


LIBRARY

The Edward Broadhead Library has a large collection of thousands of titles and maps with an emphasis on regional history. Located in the upper level of the Southeastern Colorado Heritage Center, 203 West “B” Street. It is free and open to the public 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. Tuesday thru Thursday, Friday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and by appointment.


MEMBERSHIP

Members receive advance notice of speakers and events plus our monthly publication The Pueblo Lore. We welcome donations, memorials, gift memberships, and endowments of any and all amounts. All of these are acknowledged with a card sent to the donor and giftee and in The Pueblo Lore.



THE PUEBLO LORE

The Pueblo Lore, ISSN 0741-6598, is published monthly by the Pueblo County Historical Society, 203 “B” Street, Pueblo, CO 81003. The Pueblo Lore is provided as a benefit to members of the Pueblo County Historical Society. Single copies can be purchased for $5.00 each.


About The Pueblo Historical Society

What We Do

  • Help protect and promote historic Pueblo
  • Present monthly programs of local and regional topics
  • Publish a monthly magazine, The Pueblo Lore
  • Conduct field trips
  • Publish books on topics of local history
  • Collect artifacts that relate to the history of the region
  • Maintain the ever-growing Edward Broadhead Research Library, a collection of thousands of titles and maps, with an emphasis on regional history
  • Maintain over 10,000 photographs of the local area from pioneer days to the present
  • Assist members and visitors with genealogy and historical research
